George A. H. Williams

Vice President of Community and Government Affairs

As TASC’s vice president of community and government affairs, George Williams serves as the primary strategic liaison between TASC and the community at large. During his tenure at TASC, which began in 1990, Mr. Williams has held increasing levels of responsibility, including health services unit supervisor, internal training coordinator, services development administrator, and director of community partnerships.

Along with his responsibilities at TASC, Mr. Williams is a board member of the Grand Boulevard Federation and co-chair of Congressman Danny K. Davis’ (7th Congressional District) Criminal Justice Reform Committee and Substance Abuse Advisory Committee. He is also a member of the Congressman’s committees on AIDS/HIV, Mental Health, and Public Safety.

He is a member of the board of directors of National TASC, a consortium of independent TASC programs across the country.

Mr. Williams is a recognized educator and trainer on violence interruption. He is certified as an advocate for the Chicago Metropolitan Battered Women’s Network, as an HIV/AIDS trainer for the federal Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT), and as an alcohol and drug abuse counselor with the Illinois Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Professional Certification Association (IAODAPCA).

Throughout his career, George has presented at a number of national and international conferences on issues related to criminal justice and addiction recovery.
